Celebrating 30 Years of Magic

From its first enchanting notes, The Great British Film Orchestra transports audiences into a world of adventure, friendship and magic.

Celebrate 30 years of Harry Potter with a spellbinding orchestral tribute to the music of the beloved film series. Relive the excitement of arriving at Hogwarts for the first time, the mystery of the wizarding world and the epic battle between good and evil.

Across eight unforgettable films, composers John Williams, Patrick Doyle, Nicholas Hooper and Alexandre Desplat created some of cinema’s most celebrated music. From the instantly recognizable Hedwig’s Theme to dramatic and deeply moving scores, this remarkable soundtrack has become an inseparable part of the Harry Potter story.

Performed live by an exceptional chamber orchestra, these magical melodies and powerful themes will fill some of the UK’s most iconic spaces. Sweeping strings, majestic brass and delicate woodwind bring every moment vividly to life.

Whether you grew up with the films or are discovering their magic for the first time, this promises to be an unforgettable evening for witches, wizards and Muggles alike.

The Great British Film Orchestra is proud to celebrate the composers and musicians whose extraordinary work has shaped some of cinema’s most memorable moments.

Gather your fellow film fans, wear your house colours and prepare for a magical musical journey through the world of Harry Potter.

Some of our concerts take place in stunning historic spaces such as cathedrals, minsters and abbeys. These beautiful buildings were not originally designed for modern amplified sound, so you may notice a more atmospheric sound, shaped by centuries-old stone and architecture which may differ slightly from a traditional theatre. What these spaces offer instead is an unforgettable atmosphere and the chance to enjoy live music in truly extraordinary surroundings - all while helping to support the preservation of these heritage landmarks.
